A 20 second chess film in 3D: robot pieces, a glass board, and the first three moves of a game.

Motion3D

What it was for

A test of a full 3D scene made from start to finish: models, materials, lighting, camera and animation. It uses the studio colors, so it also shows how a brand carries into 3D.

What I made

  • A chess set of 32 pieces, modeled as small robots
  • A glass board and a lit room
  • A 20 second animation of the first three moves
  • Four stills at full size
